Brock University Co-op Programs

Description:

Brock University Co-op Programs has Dramatic Arts students that are looking for co-op employment. We offer energetic, motivated and enthusiastic drama and theatre students to help staff your organization, while giving these students great experience as they work towards completing their post secondary education.

You will benefit from:

Top students who come equipped with 33 hours of skills training and a minimum of 1 year of full time academic study. Only the top 25th percentile may be eligible to participate in the Co Op program!

Energetic, highly motivated resources available for 4 month placements. Perfect resources for short-term assignments, seasonal work or time-sensitive projects.

Outstanding contributors ready and eager to make a positive impact and deliver exceptional results for your organization.

End-to-end employer support from our Co-op office through the recruiting process and subsequent work placement. We’ll supply you with resumes of recommended students, interviewing space and full administrative support.

As an added benefit, your organization may be eligible for the Ontario Government’s Co-Op Education Tax Credit, which could equal up to $3000 per student for your organization!

Brock University Film Series (BUFS)

Description:

The Brock University Film Series (BUFS) is dedicated to bringing to the Niagara Region independent, Canadian, and international films that otherwise would not be shown here. Films are shown in theatrical 35mm format on Wednesday evenings Empire Studio 8 Pen Centre from September to April. BUFS is presented by the Film Studies Program (Department of Communication, Popular Culture and Film), the oldest academic film program in Canada.

Carousel Players

Description:


Carousel Players is a professional theatre company committed to producing plays that entertain, challenge and inspire creativity in young audiences. They tour their work into schools, theatres and other venues in order to stimulate the imagination of all children, regardless of their socio-economic status. Carousel Players develops new plays with professional artists and provides outreach programming for young people and their families. In the 120-seat Sullivan Mahoney Courthouse Theatre are Carousel Players performances for family audiences, productions by Niagara’s performing arts companies and special events hosted by Niagara groups who rent the facility. Carousel Players offers an active summer camp program and theatre school activities for children aged 5 to 15 years.

Chenard, June-Etta

Description:

Colour and paper are June-Etta Chenard’s art and healing practice. She teaches in Toronto, the Niagara area, and at Quaker gatherings. In 2004 she received an FWCC Elizabeth Ann Bogert Memorial Fund grant for art. Her work is exhibited internationally, including at the University of Wisconsin “Women in the Middle: Borders, Barriers, Intersections” exhibit (2004; and a sell-out solo exhibit at Pendle Hill.
