2011 Call for Artists Announced for In the Soil: Niagara’s Homegrown Arts Festival.
We’re digging Niagara’s growing arts scene

In the Soil is now accepting applications for its third annual multi-disciplinary arts festival. This festival has taken root in downtown St. Catharines and will bloom again April 27- May 1 2011. Artists of all levels of experience with a close connection to Niagara are enthusiastically encouraged to apply. This year, In the Soil will feature over 75 music, theatre, dance, film and media works over the festival’s five days.

There are many exciting new additions to the 2011 In the Soil Festival. Look out for an outdoor Rock n’ Roll Brunch, a “streetscape” category to bring life to downtown streets and a crowd-pleasing closing event – Cabaret In the Soil!

Also new this year, the application deadline has been moved up to November 26 2010.

Last year, over 250 artists and 2500 festival patrons came together to celebrate the arts of Niagara. A jury composed of local professionals will again be picking the cream of the Niagara artist crop for this late spring harvest. Also up for grabs are three opening spots for local “Top Soil” talent at a performance at Brock University’s Centre for the Arts on Thursday, April 28 2011.
