Music Stands Available for Cultural Groups
Music Stands Available For Cultural Groups to Borrow Thanks to a Grant from the Niagara Community Foundation
Thanks to a special grant to Carousel Players from the Niagara Community Foundation, 8 new music stands are available to Niagara’s cultural groups to borrow for performances and special events starting in 2011. “From September to May it is difficult to borrow music stands from high school music departments or from Brock University as they are actively used by students for day to day activities,” said Jane Gardner, General Manager of Carousel Players. “Jason Cadieux from Essential Collective Theatre suggested that we work together to find a solution to local organization’s short term needs for this equipment. The ECT and Carousel collaboration will see 4 of the music stands available for loan from the Sullivan Mahoney Courthouse Theatre and 4 stands available for loan through the Arts Mosh Pit at 31 James St. in St. Catharines. Both Carousel Players and Essential Collective Theatre will coordinate the free loans of the music stands to other arts companies in the community. Cultural groups can rent the music stands by contacting Carrie Costello at Carousel Players at 905-682-8326 X25 or Jason Cadieux at Essential Collective Theatre at 905-684-6255
Jason Cadieux from Essential Collective Theatre said, “a central source of 8 available music stands for play readings, workshops, backstage technical needs, displays, onstage musicians, performances, fundraising events and concerts would greatly benefit the community and meet our performing arts company’s artistic and production needs for many years to come.” Essential Collective Theatre manages the Arts Mosh Pit, an arts incubator space in the downtown arts cluster that is also home to Niagara Dance Company, Niagara Musicians Association and is next door to the St. Catharines & Area Arts Council.
