New Generation Mentor Project

New Generation Mentor Project

The new generation mentor project is meant to be a significant transformative learning experience for the participating artists (mentees) . an experience that has a positive, creative, impact on their careers. The participants are to set learning goals or objectives in consultation with the mentor and will be challenged to take some risks in
their artistic practice.

The mentor will be Judy Major-Girardin. Judy has taught in the Honours Art Program at McMaster University since 1983. She has a BFA from the University of Windsor and an MFA from the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. Her work has examined the liminal space between abstraction and representation primarily through the exploration of landscape and biomorphic forms from nature. Distinctively, she has often hybridized painting and printmaking in her current work, seamlessly combining the media in her lyrical works. She
has exhibited her paintings and graphic works in solo and group exhibitions
throughout Canada and the U.S.A. and she is currently represented by Gallery
Moos in Toronto. http://www.judymajorgirardin.ca/
